Does this site cover the entire PDG? I noticed it has less than 3,000 questions while other PDG test preparation sites have more.

Yes, it covers the entire PDG. The number of questions is less because it only covers material that is in the current PDG. I screen every question and if it's not in the current PDG, it's not on this site. Because if it's not in the PDG, it won't be on the test. And studying is hard enough without studying unnecessary material.

Does using this site constitute a test compromise? Have any official agencies contacted you concerning test compromise?

No. Using this site is not a test compromise. It cannot be a test compromise because the questions in the quizzes and practice tests come from the text of the PDG and I don't know what will be on the test. I have not been contacted by any official concerning this site.

Where can I find information on what areas I should focus on more than others as I prepare for the promotion test?

You can look at the MKTS Survey found here: http://pdg.af.edu/MKTS.htm. It is supposedly used when developing the PDG and tests but I wouldn't trust it myself. I would study everything in the PDG.

I noticed that the questions cover most or all of the PDG's corresponding text and it seems as if you could just go through the questions to study. Do you have any suggestions on how to use this website to study?

The questions do mirror the content of the PDG but I recommend reading each section of the PDG and then reviewing what you learned by using this website. The individual section tests are not a substitute for the PDG. The only recommendations I can make are those found in Chapter 1, Studying Effectively.

Are the practice tests iPad and iPhone friendly? When I pull them up on either of them the page is blank.

No. Apple products don't have the ability to view swf/flash files which is the format all the tests are in.

Can you add page numbers to the questions to make it easier to look up the answers?

I'd like to but the software that generates the test doesn't provide a place to enter that information. That's why a separate list of questions and references is provided for each section. I will look into modifying this software to see if it's possible. Thanks for the suggestion.

Do you know of any thing like this for the NCO Academy (course 9)?

I am not aware of a similar study aid for the NCO Academy by correspondence. If anyone does know of one, let me know and I'll list it here.

Is there a downloadable version for iphone or similar device?

There are files (listed on chapter pages) that can be downloaded and imported into ipods and other small screen devices but there isn't anything other than that. If anyone has any experience formatting the material for portable applications, please let me know and we'll try it and see how it works out.

What motivated you to start this site?

Well, now that I'm retired I have a lot more time on my hands and building a site like this gives me something constructive to do. I have experience building PFE review tests and am fairly good at it. I made my first PDG review test when I was a SSgt. I was having a really hard time making Tech and had tested unsuccessfully four or five years in a row. Out of frustration, I went through the entire PDG and made an in-depth test for every chapter. That year I was finally selected for Tech and with 40 points to spare! And that was after missing the cut-off by 20 points the previous year! Here's my promotion selection notice. It's hard to read but you can see that I had more 4 EPRs than 5s and that was making it extra hard to get promoted. This was back when the new 5 point system first came out and there was a lot of emphasis on not inflating reports. Anyway, that success really inspired me and I have enjoyed making review tests ever since.
